The neighborhood of Arlington is one of the oldest in Riverside and use to feature its signature citrus groves. You may not find the citrus groves, but you will find the early history of Riverside and a community that is looking to keep that spirit alive. The oldest residents of Arlington have their roots from its neighboring neighborhood, Arlanza. Today, members of Arlington for its central location and access to great Riverside shopping and parks. The neighborhood also is the home to the Arlington Fire Station No. 2, and the Arlington Library. It has recently been restored and still kept its classic architecture style. The library was built in 1909 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The renovation in 2008 expanded the library to over 13,000 square feet.
Arlington was once known as the “city within a city” and offers a great opportunity for those moving into the area who value a small town feel. You will find great local shops (helped by a non profit organization), schools, parks, and only 6 miles from Downtown. Arlington is considered the second most walk-able community in Riverside.

The residential streets are lined with rustic, single-family homes, condominiums and apartment buildings. It is a family friendly area that went through a major “beatification” project to energize the neighborhood.
