Living in Canyon Crest is a great way of mixing big city life with outdoor recreation, and scenic vistas. The mostly hilly terrain has made for some of the best views for surrounding areas. Canyon Crest is one of the largest (Arlington Heights is the largest) and most diverse neighborhoods you can find in Riverside. The neighborhood is able to serve a large variety of residential needs. This means that you are certain to find something to meet your living needs!
In the northern section of the neighborhood sits another historical landmark. The William Child’s House is a Craftsman bungalow that built in 1910. It is the lasting remnant of the once 200-acre Monte Vista Nursery, which specialized in oranges. The house is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and has local significance.
Now the area includes the Canyon Crest Town Centre, which is an economic focus for the area and offers a wide range of shopping, dining, and local entertainment.
Sycamore Highlands Park
This 10 acre neighborhood park offers a great view of Downtown Riverside and provides access to trails for the extensive Sycamore Canyon Wilderness Park. If you love the outdoors, this will be your favorite neighborhood! Canyon Crest shares boundaries with the brand new Andulka Park as well. This park has two new baseball fields, a tennis complex with a pro-shop, two lighted basketball courts, two volleyball courts, restroom and concession facilities, children’s playground, picnic facilities, open meadow areas, parking and a walking/jogging trail with a native habitat area.
Since Canyon Crest is close to University neighborhood, there is pockets of apartments for the large student population.
